Prof.(Dr.) Sunanda Bharti

Introduction

Sunanda Bharti is a Professor of Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, India where she has been teaching law for more than 20 years (year of entering the data is 2025). She has a number of published works to her credit on various aspects of Intellectual Property Laws, Jurisprudence, Mediation and contemporary socio legal issues of relevance.

She has held a number of administrative positions.She was the Warden of UHW since 2020-2025.

Earlier this April (2025), she represented the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi in the 7th IPIRA Conference in Japan and presented an impactful paper on greenwashing through trademarks. Having invited at the Oxford Summer School on Animal Ethics in 2024, her latest area of interest includes animal law and its interface with intellectual property. She is the Convener of the Animal Law Cell at the Faculty of Law, DU.

Prof. Sunanda received the ‘Top 100 Legal Falcons’ Global Award in Dubai Lex Talk World Conference in April 2021 for making impactful contribution through her writings in IP Law. She is successfully represented the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi in an International Project –RISHII (Resources for Internationalisation of Higher Education Institutions in India) funded by the European Commission under the ERASMUS Scheme.

Sunanda is also a Certified Professional Mediator from Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation (IIAM). Sunanda has done pioneering research work on Legal Personality of Unborn/Foetus.
